Miranda is a counselling Psychologist with more than 17 years experience in helping support healing from emotional and psychological issues to realise positive change. As a Psychologist, she has extensive knowledge and applied experience working in community health, government and hospital, correctional and private organisations. Miranda has worked in treatment of addictions, including alcohol, substance use, gambling and relationship co-dependency. She has also worked with pregnant and parenting mothers and has a keen interest in women’s health as well as grief and loss counselling. Miranda has worked in the area of trauma focused interventions, particularly in relation to veteran and military trauma and she adopts a transdisciplinary approach model, including advocating for psychological and complementary healing as adjunct to medical interventions. She is a yoga teacher accredited with My Health Association and trained through My Health Yoga. She has pursued studies in the treatment of trauma, through trauma sensitive yoga practice. With the creation of Evolve Wellbeing, Miranda realised her passion in supporting others to create the life best lived, by designing healing spaces and a place to feel safe, encouraged and gently challenged in working through suffering and painful elements of the human condition. In witnessing the courage and strength that her clients come to therapy with, she firmly believes that with the right support and encouragement, so much is possible, least of all realising our intrinsic right to feel valued and knowing we matter. As a yoga teacher and student, she advocates the restorative benefits of yoga in addition to the value of Psychology, and believes that everyone can benefit from personal therapy with the right therapist in building resilience and overcoming trauma. We don’t find ourselves, we create ourselves and living our life by design, not default, is not something that needs to be done alone.
