Emma is a registered psychologist, having previously worked with clients in regards to a variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, substance misuse, stress management, sleep issues, physical activity management, exercise dependency, goal-setting, life changes, grief and loss, interpersonal difficulties, and adjustment difficulties.

Emma uses an integrative approach of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy based on the clients unique presentation. She is looking forward to learning more about and subsequently implementing Schema Therapy and other approaches.
 
Emma believes a client-centred, strength-based, and collaborative approach between the client and therapist is important to building a strong therapeutic alliance, of which supports the client to feel safe and comfortable while they explore their concerns. What Emma loves about her job is observing the courage clients exhibit in making change or undergoing transformation, despite the difficulty and vulnerability such change sometimes requires, and the privilege of being a part of a client’s journey.
 
Emma has experience in the settings of private practice, for-purpose organisations, sporting clubs and institutions, research, and teaching. With a major in Sport and Exercise Psychology, Emma enjoys working with clients in performance, exercise, and health domains. Emma’s specific areas of interest include working with individuals who wish to build and maintain a healthy relationship with physical movement, those who wish to achieve greater balance and holistic recovery, as well as psychological mental skills training for physical improvements in gym and competitive training domains.
