OCTOBER 2014
It's that time of year again and National Psychology Week is just around the corner, so what is National Psychology Week?
National Psychology Week (NPW) is an APS initiative that aims to increase public awareness of how psychology can help people and communities lead healthier, happier and more meaningful lives.
Each November, hundreds of Australian psychologists across the country run NPW events to highlight psychology and its contribution to the Australian community.
The focus for National Psychology Week this year will be helping Australians to manage stress and increase their wellbeing, and to recognise when professional help is needed.
In particular, the campaign will examine lifestyle factors that impact on health and wellbeing, and aim to provide guidance on psychological strategies to help people achieve a healthier lifestyle.
In 2014, the APS will again conduct its annual 'Stress and wellbeing survey' to measure the levels of stress and wellbeing across the adult Australian population.
